Multi-disk Screw Pres Sludge Dewatering Machine Description

The Multi-Disk Screw Press Sludge Dewatering Machine is a continuous, low-speed solid–liquid separation system designed for efficient sludge dewatering across municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications. It is particularly suitable for low-concentration sludge (as low as 0.2%), offering stable operation, low energy consumption, and minimal maintenance requirements.

Working Principle

The machine consists of a screw shaft running through a series of fixed and moving rings (multi-disk structure). As sludge is conveyed forward by the rotating screw, gravity drainage occurs in the thickening zone, followed by gradual compression in the dewatering zone. The moving rings continuously clean the gaps between disks, effectively preventing clogging and ensuring stable filtration without the need for high-pressure backwashing.

The screw press device formed by fixed rings, moving rings, and a spiral in the middle. With screw extrusion principle,  strong extrusion pressure generated when the screw diameter and pitch change, tiny gap between the moving ring  and the fixing ring to achieve sludge extrusion dehydration.

Sludge goes from the feed inlet into the metering tank, moved to the flocculation mixing tank, then moved to the  dewatering tank, by the push of the spiral shaft rotary vane, the pitch is gradually reduced, the pressure is  increased, the pressure difference makes sludge to be dehydrated, water outflow from fixed rings and moving  rings.

The device has self- cleaning function between the fixed rings and the moving rings, and the clearance between the  filter and the filter is prevented from being blocked. After sludge is full dehydration, sludge cake is discharged from  the discharge port under the action of the propeller shaft.

The rings are laser-cut under nitrogen protection, ensuring bright, smooth surfaces with minimal thermal deformation. Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel, they offer excellent corrosion resistance, precise gaps, and long-term operational stability.
